It’s no
longer an unusual sight. Since that dreadful incident back in 1969, the
remaining tower from the Park Hotel still floats silently above the town. The
strong and trustworthy cables hold it firmly against all varieties of weather.
Window boxes that were once home to a perfume scented spectrum of colour, now
sit empty and unloved. The shutters, with their peeling paint, remain as they
were on the day it happened. The mystery of the red balloon will never be
solved. It still appears at 6:30pm every evening, signalling to the birds to
come home to roost. By sunrise the next day, the balloon and the birds are
gone...
Very interesting. I like the way it makes the reader want to know what happened in 1969.
ReplyDeleteReally good I liked how you used "Since that dreadful incident back in 1969" maybe you could tell us what the incident was?
ReplyDeleteI love the way you encluded the rad balloon and the way you went back in time.
