Our Mosque designs using Sketchup CAD

Following our trip to Birmingham to visit a Mosque, Class 4 looked at the design and architecture of Mosques from around the world. We used Google Sketchup to create our designs - Here are the completed mosque designs.

THE CLOUD MADE OF MORE

I’m not any ordinary cloud the wind cannot control me he cannot tell me what to do.One clear, warm spring morning I decided it was time for an adventure a challenge so I set of over the sea to the city were I flow around finding lots of new things. I saw people living on the streets begging for food, water and care. I watched a few fire men putting out a fire and made it rain over the fire and put it out. You might see me one day, who knows?
I am the cloud made of more!

The Life Long Letter

My life is boring; in fact my life is the most boring life in the entire world. All I do day in and day out, is sit around writing stories, watching TV and playing computer games; it may not sound boring to you but when you have played most computer games, watched nearly every film and TV series that is available, trust me, it gets very, very dull, but I don’t really know what I want to do with the rest of my life. I’ve thought about being a vet, doctor, teacher maybe an author but the problem is I can’t decide.

It came through my letter box quite unexpectedly one beautiful summer evening. Now, I know that it was not addressed to me but the temptation was too great; it looked so inviting with its old looking style of writing and tea stained paper all curled up and crinkled.  I had to open it that very moment, and I can tell you, I do not regret it one bit.  When I told my friends about the letter and what it said they thought I was crazy.  But I was compelled by what it said and I had to follow it through.

Over the years I have travelled around the world and have seen some amazing sights, many that have been there for thousands of years. I have, learned other languages, and discovered different cultures and their beliefs. I now understand why people live the way they do. During my travels I have met many people and some have become very close friends. I have lived with them and shared many things with them food, clothes, books, pets, knowledge on how the world works and wherever I could I have tried to help them.  Every day I looked for opportunities to help strangers.

I am now back home thinking back over my long and eventful life, what fabulous adventures I had been on, all because of just one letter. I did not miss having my own house or having lots of possessions. Everything I had ever owned could fit in just one small rucksack. Traveling the world by foot and ferry exploring the many beautiful countries and cities some at war and some very peaceful. When I think back and think what type of life I would have had compared to the life I lived is very different. If I had not gone on that adventure than I would have been cooped up in my house and sometimes going out instead of having a free life to do whatever I wanted and not worry about the future or all the trivial everyday things.

What was in the letter? Do you want to know? Well if you are lucky perhaps one day you too will get a mysterious letter in the post when you least expect it.  If I were you, I would just open it and see what is inside. You could change your life by opening just one letter.

Thieves

My name is Cyril. I’m the king of thieves and this is about my worst plan ever.

“I’ve got an idea, let’s steal the crown jewels.” “Don’t you think that is a bit risky because the last time we did something like that thirty of us were captured?” Larry said concerned. “I think it’s a great idea.” said someone sitting in the back row. “So we’ll go right away.” But it went wrong horribly wrong and two guards started to chase me and I ran.

Petrified, exhausted, breathless, I ran as fast as humanly possible, for dread this might be the end.

THE QUEST TO FIND MY ALONE SISTER

The quest to find my alone sister

I looked high and low,
Oh where did my sister go,
I’ve been looking day and night,
Oh where has my sister gone,
I’ve followed this path,
Oh where has my sister go,
Is she sitting in a tree,
Oh where has my sister gone,
Is she lying in a meadow singing to the birds,
Oh where has my sister gone,
Come out come out where ever you are,
Oh where did my sister go,
You need to come here right now,
Oh where has my sister gone,
Please come out please, please, please,
Yes, yes I’ve found you!

The Best Hotel Ever

I turned the corner and there it was, the legendary floating hotel.  Outside was a doorman in a uniform that shimmered in the light, ablaze with strange symbols that danced and glowed, never still. He was old, with a face like a cathedral gargoyle, mirrors for eyes that reflected my face.  A fearsome sight for sure but my curiosity got the better of me.  “Is it true?” I asked, “Is it true that schools visit but the teachers never come out again?”. His body creaked as he slowly leaned over and hissed in my ear “Yes, it’s true, welcome….to Condover Hall”.

DIGGING IN THE GARDEN

Amazed, astonished and excited they opened the metal chest and realised that it was a time capsule of a Victorian child. As they looked through lots of letters, Bob saw something. It was a strange girl dressed in ragged clothes, they were all torn up. As it shivered, they realised that it was a ghost – eeek! They ran for the house leaving the chest behind - wouldn’t you?

THE APP WITH A VIRUS

It started 5 days ago when there was a new ringing app sent to stores around the world in every language. What no one knew was that when you ring someone the phone of the person you’re ringing grabs onto them. When the phone grabbed them they panicked and rang for help. The more people rang each other, the more people had a phone for a hand. Now everyone in the entire world is infected with the virus.

The scariest thing is that a world famous scientist says “we don’t know how this started it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen.”

The wrong day

If only I hadn’t been at the park that day, if only the boy hadn’t done it, if only there wasn’t a crocodile, then I wouldn’t have seen what I saw!

Now, what I saw wasn’t very nice, it was horrible! What I saw was a boy swinging on a very weak piece of string and swinging over a crocodile. The boy was surrounded by other people so I wasn’t alone. As the rope snapped the boy screamed and fell into the jaws of the monster. When this happened his mum and dad where screaming, “Hey, those were new trunks!”
