100 Word Challenge by John Davies

And then the noise stopped…
City had scored against the Blues. Any  sounds attributed to their fans ceased. Jubilant white noise as the Manchester  fans  extended their lead to 2-0 . In response, the Chelsea players’ heads dropped .  They had been destroyed by superior opposition. Still their poor run continued.
Aguero pestered their defenders like an angry wasp. Ivanovic tried in vain to block-tackle Aguero, but failed ineptly. Finally, patience running out, he desperately  lunged but only clipped his opponent’s leg. Penalty! Triumphant cheers burst forth from home fans. Sergio struck the ball with great aplomb into the back-netting . It was  3-0! The game was all but over!
