It was a cold night, and I was snuggled in my bed fast asleep when I woke up to the sound of the siren. I was scared, yet exited. We (my Mum, Dad, sister, and me) ran down the garden and into to the Anderson shelter, it was dark and dusky down there but I still felt warm and safe. I could hear our next door neighbours baby crying, I then suddenly remembered this isn’t something to laugh about. I was listening to the baby crying, and then the noise stopped I knew my neighbours were dead; I fell to the floor and wept bitterly.
