The
Old Garden Shed by John
Davies
One
Summer afternoon Matt ventured out into the garden. The sight that
greeted him was a huge ocean of green! Walking reluctantly into the
old garden shed,he dug amongst gardening tools to find his lawn-mower
and eased her free.Stepping out of the dusty, cobwebbed shed,he forced
the plug lead into the extension socket.Surprisingly and
shockingly, the contraption switched itself on without consent!
Soon, like a beast, this red and green four-wheeler was running
rampage! Careering all over the multicoloured flowerbed, beheading
chrysanthemums and letting fly ripped tulips hedgebound like
superheroes clubbed away by a comic-book monster! This once beautiful
flowerbed ripped bare, Matt could only be left dumbstricken as a
mischievous metallic machine wriggled free of its lead and magically
flew helicopter-like,propelled and elevated by rotary gnashers !
