The
media said they were friendly. Their celestial progress was tracked
for a month. The UN and EU agreed this was a momentous occasion. The
President urged tolerant friendship in a moving speech. Our PM
compared this to VE-Day, greeting them with tweets and his wife's
bread and butter pudding recipe.
"Tina,
are we the only ones who feel there's something wrong?"
"No!
Charlie, my pet chihuahua, ran away! "
Then
they arrived, in that iridescent vessel. They were green and mean.
Petrified,
exhausted, breathless, I ran as fast as humanly possible, for dread
that this might be the end...
