100 word challenge - Darcey

The bus chugged along, holding its usual crowd of rowdy passengers. Amelia and Jay were revising for their maths test. 
"Did you hear that?" Amelia asked
"Hear what?" 
"Listen!"
Jay heard it too that time - a harrowing sound something between a creak and a screech, the bus trembled - as did its passengers and shuddered to a halt. Terror held the children's voices hostage momentarily until they all started screaming in unison. The arms of the nearby trees encroached upon the vehicle, wrapping it up like a parcel. Gnarled, bark encrusted fingers tapped the windows like the talons of a dragon...
