Jadzias 500 word challenge soundcloud

SDear diary

Saturday 15th May 2009

Life living at the old barn house is great. I get a shed as my bedroom - anyone would think I was a cow or a horse! There are no shopping centres, no swimming pools, nothing, it's the worst life ever.
So today is my first day living at Winford Farm and it's not great. The house is made out of wood and I hate it, I repeat: I HATE IT!!!!  Grandma died two weeks ago and Grandad went to live in a care-home and wanted our family, the Jenkins, to take of the farm and live in it. Grandad said it would be fun but I guess his idea of fun is cleaning poop up and cleaning animals. I wasn't made for work.

Sunday 16th May 2009

Although we're not religious we went to church for something to do. I met a lot of people. They all thought my name, Lilliana, was pretty and their names, Florence, Kiwi and Margerie weren't. Well, I'd rather be called Florence or Kiwi than old Lilliana. After that we went 32 miles to go shopping at Barnsley Mall which was enormous and that's the truth. I bought 39 items: you never know when you're next going shopping. But For me that was the last time ever.

Monday 17th May 2009

So it came to my first day at Winford School and yes, I had a lovely welcome! Come on, you can't throw a new girl in a river full of cows drinking! Can you? When I got home I tried to hide. I hate it here! People hate posh stuff and wear cowboy stuff instead . I did make one friend - her name's Amily. She's so pretty with long black silky hair and pretty blue eyes that sparkle in the sunlight. At my new school there are the bullies: Magnus, Fern and the big, bad Judas . He's the worst person ever and he hates everyone.

Tuesday 18th May 2009

Soon Tuesday came. The day was horrible. Magnus ,Fern and Judas were ill. Still I can't believe they had back-ups called Magnus Jnr, Fern Jnr, and of course Judas Jnr. But after school Amily and I went to the Mall (all 32 miles) to buy some stuff. When we'd been there for two hours we saw Fern. "Hello little Lilly! I know let's play tag!" Amily and I ran as fast as our legs could carry us. Soon we got to a dead-end - the only choice we had was to go through the five metres deep fountain...we just had to do it. Anyway we got home soaking of course and I used five boxes of batteries to get myself dry with the hair-dryer.

Wednesday 19th May 2009

So at the end of five days I had lots of things happen. 1: new name 'little Lilly' 2: swim through 5 metres deep pool 3: meeting the 6 bullies 4: knowing my name is awesome.

500 Laura

Nervous, exhausted, reluctant I staggered out of my cozy, warm bed,for today was my first day at highschool. I was terrified of the idea, yet I had to go. Will I make friends? Is the teacher nice? Will others make fun of me? All these questions came rushing at me, then flew into my head and jumbled themselves about carelessly. I worriedly looked out my window and saw the bright yellow school bus waiting for me right outside at the nearest bus stop.
An hour later I arrived at my new school. My heart was racing, pounding against my chest. I entered the school in fear and headed towards my first class,it was chemistry...As I shuffled into my chemistry class I saw the last empty seat. The teacher glared at me and made a shiver go up my spine. I lowered myself to my chair and closed my eyes...I found a humongous tower that had a purple tiled roof and leant off the side of a tall cliff.

What was this mysterious place? Curiously I wandered into the castle. Inside was a long stair case. "Hello?" I called. Nobody replied. Climbing the staircase took about 2 minutes until I reached a small room filled to the brim with potions and empty bottles on wooden shelves. Stupidly I span around the room in amazement, admiring all the colourful potions until my arm knocked over a sparkling rainbow potion. A man dressed in a navy blue cloak with stars on it stormed in. He was also wearing a tall, pointy wizard hat. The wizard( well I assumed he was) looked at me in astonishment. "Sorry sir, I didn't mean to!" I said. A bullet of guilt shot me. What next?

Henry's 500 Word Challenge - Masked

Masked
“And this is your news with Tom Rutherford …” he could barely finish his sentence before the radio cut and a vexatious scratching noise took it’s place. “Really? and in the middle of my first show as well! “sighed Tom in an irascible voice. Then the radio started again. But this time it wasn’t Tom.
It was a mysterious voice that seemed to be getting closer to him by every second. “You’re not safe, I’m coming to get you...”Terrified, Tom instantly froze to the spot. But then a knocking sound came from the door “ H.. hello?” Tom gasped with fear. The worn door was jolted open and the silhouette stood at the opening. They were a dark figure as black as coal with their  face obscured and with torn pockets. “You must close this radio station or terrible things will happen!” they exclaimed . Tom remained speechless...

Dear Diary Extract

Dear Diary

Dear Diary,
Today this is how my day went… Boom! Crash! The guns kept firing, the bombs kept dropping. I thought to myself will today be my last day living?
I’m extremely happy to be in bed tonight able to write my diary entry, but it will probably be like last night and the night before that, when I couldn’t get to sleep because I was worried; worried that I would die in the night. Will I be shot? Will a bomb drop on me? Will I be alive tomorrow? It’s the way I’ve felt since this horrible war began.
                                      ------------------------
This morning I woke up in the traditional routine; wake up seven am on the dot, breakfast 7:02am. I could whiff the scent of the original porridge while I was walking down the long, elegant, grand, spiral staircase that was painted a royal blue.
After breakfast I went back up to my room and was about to get dressed when suddenly there was a power cut. I was in complete darkness. Petrified, exhausted, breathless, I ran downstairs as fast as humanly possible, to try to find my mum for dread that this was the end…
Once I reached the ground floor, I looked everywhere but my mum had vanished. Suddenly I saw a mysterious silhouette. It said to me in a spine chilling, deep, aggressive voice: “There is no getting out of here this time.” My heart was beating one billion times a second. I gazed over at the old, rusty, wooden door and ran as fast as lightning. It seemed like forever until I was eventually outside but I kept running as fast as my legs would carry me.
Once I was in the forest that surrounded my house, I stopped needing to catch my breathe. I closed my eyes hoping that it was all a dream. After a minute I opened my eyes. I glanced around realising with horror that there were hundreds of men surrounding me with their guns held up pointing at ME!! Boom! Crash!  They all fired their guns. At first I ran and carefully dodged the bullets but when exhaustion set in I fell to the ground. I lay there silent, still, terrified.
The men must have thought I was dead as after I while I heard them moving away. Still I lay there, unable to move.
After what seemed like forever I heard a faint voice shouting: “POPPY! POPPY!”
The voice sounded very familiar and it started getting closer and closer. Soon I realised it was my mum. Suddenly I was overwhelmed with relief. I knew that my mum was safe and now she had come to rescue me.
As soon as mum saw me she raced over, flinging her arms around me. Swiftly she helped me to my feet and then lead me back safely to the house.
Once home, mum made us a warm cup of hot chocolate, ran me a hot bath, then tucked me into my comfortable bed.

Beulah's 500 Word Challenge

THE DRAGON OF YOUR NIGHTMARES
Alicia was thirteen and tall with long, fair, auburn hair that went down to her thin waist. She had stunning, hazel brown eyes and tanned skin. Alicia was a tomboy and refused to wear dresses, skirts, anything pink or frilly, but she loved her jeans.
Alicia loved drawing and had a talent for it, she could draw almost anything. Her greatest drawing was a gargantuan dragon, its name was Chaos. Its scales were metallic blue, the pointed, sharp spines on its enormous back were fiery red, its fearsome claws and deadly teeth were blood stained and grimy. The eyes were what gave it its ferocious appearance, they were black as the darkest soul from hell, just black, no colour, just black.
One day Alicia stayed behind at school because she was helping her friends with their drawing, and Alicia and her best friend were walking home but Alicia suddenly noticed she had left her drawing pad at school so they started walking back.
Suddenly they heard a roar coming from the school and then a lion came bounding at then from in the school “ROAR!” The lion kept coming so Alicia ran, she just ran! She hit a dead end and was cornered, just as she thought the situation couldn't get any worse, it did!
An almighty, ferocious howl came from the centre of the collapsing school, a beacon of fire shot up into the sky! The school collapsed to reveal the greatest, most feared of her drawings, it was the dragon of her nightmares, Chaos!
The lion scattered along with many emerging creatures of different shapes and sizes. Then it hit Alicia, these were all the things she had drawn, the dragon, the lion and all of the extraordinary. This had all happened when she had gotten her book wet when she was painting, she had never gotten her book wet before, so it seemed that all of her drawings when wet came to life!
Alicia had a genius idea, that was quite risky, but she had to do it. She climbed over the pieces of the fallen school, until she came to what used to be the art lab and rummaged around pulling up book after book searching for hers, if she could just find her book she could try to put her drawings back where they belonged.
She searched for what felt like half an hour until she finally found her ripped book, it had been neon pink before but now it was covered in a layer of dust and dirt. Alicia scrambled around the floor till she eventually found a snapped pen,”a snapped pen is better than no pen” is what Alicia kept saying to herself, but now she had what she needed she did not have a clue what she would draw, to get the drawings back on the page.
That was it she needed to draw the drawings going back onto the page! Alicia drew what she imagined, added water, but nothing worked!
                “HELP ME!”

Emily's 500WC

Heartless manor, set in the rolling countryside of Transylvania, was
in the middle of nowhere. An old church and graveyard were the two
only features round the house and the nearest houses were in a village
miles down the road. Rumours were told amongst the village folk that
googlies and ghosts came out of the graveyard every full moon and
wondered the grounds of the house. The house and been empty for a
number of years and mysteriously the last owners of the manor had
never been seen since the last full moon party in the village. Some
local villagers had gone to check but had been scared off as they
thought they had seen something in the cemetery. From that point no
villager had ever set foot in the manor, church or graveyard.

Mr and Mrs Bogmore had two children, Julian and Octavia, who had been
fighting in the back of the car for three hours straight about who was
going to get the bigger bedroom. As a result Mr and Mrs Bogmnore were
extremely happy to turn the next corner and see a sign for their new
house, Heartless manor.

Mr Fiddle the estate agent had been waiting for somebody to buy the
house for a long time. Every time he had sent people to look a local
villager had warned then about rumours of the graveyard and the spooky
going ons. He had got so fed up with all the rumours wrecking his
plans to sell the house that he had enough and would go with the next
buyers to stop any villagers telling them the scary stories. The next
couple, of course, was Mr and Mrs Bogmore. Mr Fiddle made sure that he
showed the couple round the house and ensured that they never bumped
into a villager. The deal was done.

Julian and Octavia jumped out of the car and headed straight to the
garden to explore there new settings. Mr and Ms Bogmore sat in the car
for moment longer and breathed a sigh of relief as the constant
bickering was finally put to an end. They got out of the car and
walked to the front door, as they pushed it open the rusty hinges
squeaked loudly. In front of the him was a pitch black staircase the
colour of coal and the decoration had certainly seen better days, They
looked at each other and there expectations were levelling down.

As the sun was setting Mr and Mrs Bogmore started to think about
settling down for the evening. Mrs Bogmore made some sandwiches or tea
whilst Mr Bogmore was struggling to make the beds upstairs. Just then
Julain and Octavia came running into the kitchen and 'Mum, there is a
light on in the church'. Mrs Bogmore was confused as she knew nobody
ever went to the church. Mr Bogmore then came down from upstairs and
asked who had been running around upstairs as he'd heard footsteps.
They all looked at each other and just as they did this a loud booming
started and the air turned cold!

The Dog Walk!

“Jane! Jane! Jane where are you?” shouted Mum
“I am in my room”. I replied,
“Can you take the dog for a walk?” Mum asked
“Sure” I said grumpily
“But you do know she will always run off?!”

Dizzy is our dog, a big black Labrador with a patch of white at the end of his tale. He is always naughty, especially on dog walks, but you can’t really blame him he’s only a pup.

As I got him on the lead I noticed that they had just put a new building over the top of the big rabbit hole, I was quite relieved because that was the hole that Dizzy always goes down but I was pretty certain that he would not be able to squeeze under. We set off at a brisk pace and Dizzy was being good for a change so I decided to let him of the lead then saw a bird, not even Usain Bolt could catch him he sped past our house and into a bush. I ran after him shouting his name he did not hear me or at least he did not respond. I shouted again this time he heard me but instead of stopping by me he ran past me.

I started chasing him again but when I came to the new building he was gone I searched the bushes but he was still nowhere to be seen. I got down on my hands and knees and looked under and the new house, I could just see the tip of his tale poking out I tried to reach him put he was too far away. I scrambled under and tried to reach him again, I stretched my hand down the rabbit hole but then it slipped and I fell into the earth.

To my surprise I came out in a beautiful wood with wild talking flowers and the leaves on the trees were multi-coloured.
“Dizzy come hear! “I shouted, but instead of hearing a bark I heard someone saying,
“You could at least ask nicely!”
“Dizzy is that you?” I said nervously.
“Well who else would it be?!" Dizzy said questioning me.
”I…I… I’ve just never met a talking dog before” I stumbled.
"Well now you have!" Dizzy said crossly “ I buried my bone here yesterday and now I can't find it! Can you help me?"
"Ok” I said, so we got to work.

We started on a small slope but there was nothing there but then we came to a pile of dirt.  I scrabbled with my hands until my fingers touched something wet and hard,  the bone! I quickly took it out and gave it to dizzy.
“Thanks!” he said as he started chewing on it.
“We better get back or mum will start wondering where we are!" II told dizzy. We tried to get back up the hole and after but a few attempts we finally made it!

The Island (4th paragraph) by Peter

The Island

I woke up alone on the floor in a small wooden rowing boat. The boat had come to rest on what I presumed was an island. All I could see was golden sand, gleaming blue water and trees that looked like palm trees except for the strange looking fruit hanging from the branches.

I got out as quietly and carefully as possible, whilst checking around me for it felt like I shouldn’t be here. The sand was soft beneath my bare feet. It was also warm because of the sun shining down on it. I felt scared and confused with lots of questions going round in my head. Where am I? How did I get here? What am I going to do?

My heart was thumping so hard and wildly that it felt like I had lots of soldiers banging drums inside me, bang, bang, bang, bang... I tried to slow my heart beat down by breathing deeply and steadily. I moved towards the trees with the strange looking fruit, cautiously hoping to find somebody else. However I had no idea what or who lived on this island. Would they be human? Would they speak my language? Would they be friendly? Would they help me?

Just as I reached the shade of the trees I became aware that the sand suddenly felt cold. I hadn’t noticed that the warm sand comforted me, but now it was gone and I began to feel even more scared.

What was that!? I was sure I heard something. It sounded like the snapping of a twig. I heard it again and turned quickly towards where it sounded like it was coming from. Feeling petrified now, I stood as still as a statue not even wanting to breath or make a sound. As I stood frozen with fear, the noise got closer. Just as I was about to try and run away, I saw it creeping towards me. It wasn’t like anything I’d seen before. It was covered with spiky fur. It had two big eyes on a very flat face, feet shaped liked cat’s feet and it sounded like it was growling very gently. By now I really was too scared to move. The ‘thing’ was now only about three feet in front of me. I didn’t know whether to run or scream! However as I stood there hoping and praying it wouldn’t notice me, it stopped and looked straight into my face...

My head started to spin and I felt something on my arm. In the distance I could hear a voice. It sounded like it was calling my name. Something gently stroked my face and the voice got louder. I turned towards the voice and tried to focus my eyes on a shape beside me. As my vision became clearer I realised where I was. My Mum was standing next to me gently touching my face. I was in my bed and that was one scary dream...

“Morning Sleepy Head!” said Mum.

500 BBC Radio Challange by John

RADIO NEWS ALERT!
This may sound crazy and you will probably not believe me if
you ever hear this! My name is Kieran McMullan. This
is a radio broadcast that you may never get
to hear. I live in the city of Belfast , at No.2 Bridge Street. The
day is 15th April 1941. It is 11 o’clock at night. I have met a
strange character called the Doctor, who tells me he is a time
traveller. Yes I know ! You will probably think that I am mad
and that this broadcast is by some crazed person suffering
from hallucinations, as a result of what is happening right
now !  He says that he has come to ensure the safety of my
younger sister Clara, who he says will be very important to
the future of our world! The Doctor says that I should make
this broadcast as a witness to this terrible event, in case that
no one is able to talk of this again !  He has told me that,
if the Nazis succeed in their aims, there may never be
freedom for our people in the future!  Clara has been taken in
his Tardis and transported to somewhere safer, though I do
not know where. He has left me with this transmitter to speak
the truth of this night. I am scared, but the Doctor says
everything will be alright in the end. I am not so sure. He
promised he will be back soon for me, though that does not
reassure me. He says to stay under our Morrison shelter and
wait. I am so frightened.
Tonight we heard the sounds of aeroplanes. We thought it
was RAF fighters. But they are not, and they are many! You
probably wonder why I am alone at this time. My father died
when I was three and my mother is working a late
shift in the aircraft factory. Now, I do not know what to do! I
want to find my mother but the Doctor says to stay here and
wait for him. He says he will make sure Mum is okay. I can
hear the German bombers pass over us, wave after wave. The
bombs fall like the sound of wailing witches in the sky. When
I peer through the lounge curtains, all I see is the sky, lit up
red and orange. The foundations of the house shudder and
all I think is," Dad, where are you now when I need you?"
I am afraid but angry. I want to rip those aeroplanes from the
sky, like the great King Kong that I saw in the flicks. Doctor,
where are you? Clara where are you? I pray that we shall all
make it through this terrible night. But, if I or little sis never
see Mum again, please remember us in this time capsule
transmission that the Doctor may find. Over and out!
Night night world ! Night night Mum ! Night night Clara! Meet on the other side!
