George's 100 Word Challenge

George's 100 Word Challenge

His eyes were dark tunnels, because of his concentration. His skills were incredible, round one player than another. He played for England football team for the last three years. In this particular match; England were losing to Spain three goals to none. Then the manger for England team made a sub, now it was the 70th minute, we needed to get a goal within the next minute, otherwise the win wouldn't be in our hands. Suddenly the game was changed just like that, with one goal for England, then another.  Two goals to win and one goal to draw, will they win the cup...

When Mr Warne’s in a bad mood

When Mr Warne’s in a bad mood

The more the names went on the red board the more furious Mr Warne became. Suddenly, Mr Warne turned a deeper shade of red likewise steam could be seen from his ears. Flames appear from the soles of Mr Warne's feet, the smoke engulfed the whole room. The class left the room rapidly. A noise thundered through the school, the most awful sound, the FIRE ALARM!!!!!

The fire engines could be heard in the distance. The smoke got worse and worse. Eventfully the fire brigade came, and went into the classroom that was causing all the trouble, the fire men found all the trouble and put it out before any harm could come to the school. The next hour Mr Warne came out the school drenched!

The hotel

The '5 Star Hotel' turned out to be a dump! We had searched the Internet for six months to find the perfect hotel (this one was apparently excellent!). The reviews said there were five luxurious bedrooms each with there own en-suite.  Next it claimed it was the size of a villa. And so it went on. . . . . My parents were fuming with rage, fire coming out of their mouths, smoke coming out of their ears and noses. I thought to myself, how long will this go on? If this is going to be my holiday, I’d better make the most of it!

Book review on The boy in the striped pyjamas

The Boy In The Striped  Pyjamas

The boy in the striped pyjamas is a brilliant book and I would recommend this book for 10+. The book starts of slowly however you get more into it through out the book, it took me a long time to get into it. John Boyne sets the scene extremely well, like wise you can really picture what happens. I would rate this book four and a half stars.

THE TEN STEP PROGRAM TO
VAMPIRE VEGETARIANISM
by George W. and Johnny D.

"Please look up from your sheets! Can you see the principles of the ten-step program? The carnivorous vampire is a dreadful creature: it disregards the rights of non-vampires to live their lives without being sucked dry!
We welcome you all to our humble abode, Fangtasia! This meeting has now officially come to order. Let us say the pledge. We are not gratuitous blood-sucking freaks! If we are to change, we must change ourselves. We stand for freedom, fairness and fruit! Like minded brother join me in a fruit juice toast, we celebrate being vegetarians. Bring out the fruit salad. We rejoice.

Georges 100 word challenge

The light house

Imagine a place where the sun never shines, when life is never right, where wars happen. And that’s where Charlie Buttlestone began he life in the lighthouse at the end of the lane. Now Charlie was only 7 years old at that time, as I said he lived in the old dusty light house at the of the lane. Charlie woke up that Saturday morning he great ambitions to explore the lighthouse.

The door slammed open “Sam you will be late for school”
“But I was having the most superb dream”
“ Be down within five minutes or no X-box”

100 word challenge by George

100 Word challenge

There it was, the colours so illuminous, blinding me. It grew fast, whipping out of the page. A creation so beautiful and wonderful, it sprung into action. Dancing all round the room, from one leap to an another. I stared at the figure, which was prancing around, I thought for a second. What was I going to do? I thought a little longer, and then it came to me. I checked if I had more paper. The creations began to form in my work and one by one they pulled themselves out of the page. Oh! What a  super scene.

George's opening paragraph - Australian Mythology - The Bunyip

If he wasn't so foolish, if he hadn't taken the creature, if he hadn't found it, then the wave as big as skyscraper wouldn't have formed. He was horrified, startled and troubled about his actions. He stared at the wave that was fast
approaching - it was the end; or was it?

See if you can spot a few Alan Peat inspired sentences?

George 100 word challenge

But all I could see was water

Blue, brightly dazzling in the sun,

Utterly still,
Tantalising.

Apples are ripe,
Lemons bright,
Lush fruits;

I could picture it.

Clouds out of sight,
Oh what a delight!
Under the sun,
Luxurious!
Don’t you worry

See the wind whistle,
Enable to enjoy yourself,
Even if it’s for a second.

What an experience,
After all it’s beautiful,
So calm and peaceful;

What more could you want?
An opportunity that doesn’t go by every day,
Tomorrow I would like to do this all over again and again,
Every day I would love to come,
Really that’s all you expect of the beach.

The 105 word challenge

The 105 word challenge

The gorilla was fabulous in his performance he circled round the grand circus tent his muscles rippling across the surface of his skin. The mere sight was outstanding an animal with such grace and power. The gorilla was a mischievous character; he was cherished by the keepers and treasured by the crowd. I gazed at the pink bicycle, which was ridden by the gorilla, with such sophistication as it passed me yet another time. Just then the creature stooped down to grasp three skittles in his hairy hands, then he started to juggle swiftly. I laughed so much my stomach ached. He was the star!

The Slippers in the shed

The Slippers in the Shed

I strolled into the shed, as I observed around I saw mums old slippers. I wondered how long they'd been there. I decided to try them on, as I was putting them on, the flowerpot I stood next to began to shrink, a tingling feeling came over me. The table was colossal…  I was microscopic! Aaaaahhhhh!

I looked around everything was a vast expanse of murky objects; I wondered how I got into this pickle. Did I tread on something, touch anything? Then I realised, I put mum's slippers on. Yes! That's the problem, so I took a slipper off...

The boomerang seemed to have a mind of it's own

The boomerang seemed to have a mind of it's own

The boomerang seemed to have a mind of it's own. It did, there was no doubt about it!
It flew from my hand, powering effortlessly through the blue sky.  The backdrop of trees were swaying in the gentle breeze.  How it soared higher and higher looking as though it had no intention of returning. Suddenly, it was like a Peregrine Falcon diving swiftly at it’s prey. Approaching me with a menacing look in its eye. It swooped across the skies eager to return to the hand that threw it. Bang! In the hand in which he came from back to step one. Unfortunately the flight had come to an end.

This is a thrilling book it great for 9 and 10 year olds. It's about a boy called Joe Spud. He and his father have everything they could want. Joe even has his own formula one racing car! But he wants something better than just a car he want's a … Friend!

I think David Walliams is a superb author so much that you feel part of the action, and you know how the the characters in the book feel. Read this book to find out if Joe Spud finds a friend.
